  4. John-
    Happy Birthday.
I just watched the Showtime program on your family.
You were my first heart throb.
Your family was my first identity with what I viewed as a real close family. Even though now I see your reality was no better than mine- the illusion got me through some very tough times. So I hope you realize it wasn’t for naught. I cannot be the only one. Your music, Bill’s music, Bob’s music- the words- everything saved me- and had to save others. So thank you. Your family sacrificed so much. But do not ever doubt it was for naugAsk for a ht. I had over 100 penpals at the time I wrote to that were Cowsill fans- ALL OVER THE WORLD. You mattered, imagined or not- these are imprints on the the timeline. this documentary gives me chills and makes me sad but- thank you John. Thank you. I work at Busch Gardens and hope you travel there with your wife when her band performs. Ask for a safari and see the giraffes and I will make sure you get to see some special things- Love to you and your family!

  5. Hello Hello. Happy belated birthday John Patrick, and a Happy St Patrick’s Day to boot. The documentary was a heartbreaker but so poignant and inspiring, and such a slice of Americana. Ever thought of putting the Cowsills harmonic touch on a few Irish melodies? Cowsills go bragh!!!

  6. Hey John! My mom called me today and saw the Showtime interview and watched it. So, I’m getting in touch with you after all these years! Hope to reconnect with you!
    Richard

ps Mike and Jenny are still in Ojai working at their restaurant.

  7. Happy Birthday John! It’s my birthday also (same year too–I always loved that we were exactly the same age). I can still sing all the Cowsill’s songs by heart. Just saw the documentary and it explains so much. I wish you nothing but the best in all your years to come and hope to meet you someday in the future at another concert. (I was one of the screaming girls at the Scranton, Allentown, and Asbury Park concerts.) I’ll be more composed this time!

  8. I, too, just saw the documentary on Showtime and was so very moved.
Birthday wishes to john and blessings to you all.

  9. Hi !
I just saw the bio on Showtime and was touched .I have wanted to reach a survivor of Barry , My friend , your Brother you loved . I spent about 10 days in N.O. LA 17 years ago , he used to play with “Alligator and the bayou boogie band ” in Monterey bay , Ca .
I was Alligators friend at the time , Alligator told me Barry had to leave the area for DWIs . So we went down and spent the whole time in between the Jazz fest and Gigs together with his GF and 2 children . He and I connected like soul mates , I read people and there was something deep in this mans eyes , I knew without him telling me , his father was astrong influence and i also knew he loved evryone of you , But Susan I believe now, He was trying to save her . This may be why we connected , i remember he said I remind him of Susan . After tearing up , watching the Doc ..there just was alot of conversation I do remember Barry telling me. Moments that were like frozen in time. He had a personality HUGE !! I adored him , I have been around Muiscians before so this was not a Groupie thing . Well when Katrina hit , I had a sick feeling , and until recently did not know he passed , however ..I have had many odd dreams about him. anyways , I felt compelled to try and talk to you all , at the end it seems as though you were looking for answers, I may be able to share a few things with you ..I do not know .I am a very spiritual person and maybe there is a bigger reason I am trying to contact you .Well..I hope youn see this , The real Cowsills .LOVE Always , Yvette Kelley
