I just saw the documenary on your family it was GREAT the world lost a great people in Bill and Bob GOD BLESS THE COWSILLS.
Please come to michigan. I just saw the film on showtime and was mesmerizede. (sp) Bill had a very unique way of telling a story. I feel I need to meet you as I also experienced the 60’s as a teen. let me know if any of you are going to be in Mich soon Thx for all your music God Bless all of you.
Just watched the documentary on this amazing family. I do remember them from the 60’s. I was touched by their family and their lives as young muscians in a dysfunctional family. I feel they let us get to know them better and I am so grateful they gave us this glimpse of their lives. I will always feel this connection w them every time I hear their songs. Thank you
I can’t believe what I just watched. That was my childhood, except we didn’t get famous. My love and heart is, and always has been with you guys. Wow! That was very powerful and moving. Who knew you guys went through that. I thought it was just my family. My Sisters and I are so close because of the fear we lived in as children.
I wish Billy his deserved Birthday…and he was loved and will be missed.
Your right…your family is your family. You make it work, and you survive.
“And I knew…you guys made us all happy!!!”
I have loved the Cowsill’s harmony forever. A child of the sixties, they were an incredible band. What a shame that could break the stronghold of their father and be their own band. I will love them forever.!
I was fortunate as well to hear Bill and the Cowsills music in the 60’s. It was clean, tight and unique–I love it still—–Godspeed Bill!
That’s a great song & performance bravo!!!
I am so fortunate to have been alive during the 60’s to experience the Cowsills. The good news is that the talents of Billy and the family have inspired me with lasting joy. The joy never dies. I know for sure, Billy, that you will hear my words I write here to you. I’ve always wanted a way to get my words to you and the entire family about how I and many of us got to have our lives enhanced with thrills and fun because you guys put out the effort to get your music and voices to us.
The experience continues to be ignited every time I hear your voices. So many of us have enjoyed, admired, and have seriously wanted your good work to be successful in all good ways. I still feel the same way. There are many of us who see and know your good hearts, because we are on the receiving end of your sending it all to us. What fun it has been that doesn’t end even with Billy pasted on.
Whenever you sang, Billy, I could feel the resonance, the emotion, all expressed with conviction. This was true for the entire group. I finally get to express to you, if only in these few lines, what it was like to experience the joyous fun when your music and voices sang to the world. It was, and is a feeling so healthy that I for one won’t let it end. I keep you all alive in my heart in both the joy you delivered, and the thankfulness I have for what you did for all of us. My forever love and appreciation to you Billy, and the Cowsills.
The Showtime commentary “Family Band made me cry.”
Your comments are exactly how I feel, I couldn’t possibly say it any better. Well written and from your heart. Thank you for putting into words how I’m feeling but couldn’t pull the words out the way you did. Thanks Again
Dear Bill, i wish you were here celebrating with us, but i know you are in heaven , probably knowing we are thinking about you, i can only say good things about you, even though i never knew you, i feel that you were just a cool man, happy birthday on what would have been a very merry birthday for a great guy from Mark Williams who lives in Kilgore Texas
I heard a Cowsills song the other day and wondered what happened to them. I surprised that many of them remained in the music business and am really impressed with their talent. I was sorry to hear about the losses of Billy and Barry. That’s so very tragic!
Got to know Billy pretty well in the time he spent with us out here in Vancouver Canada. Billy was the “real thing”. He had that charisma that few performers have. We miss him greatly. Gordo
I am a fan who loved Bills voice and that of his family. I grew up with the family and their music. Thank you for being part of my life. I feel like I know you personally. happy birthday and you will be missed. Thanks again. I will miss Barry too.
As a dedicated fan, there is a profound sadness to learn of the passing of a band member, because we keep a special place alive in our hearts where everyone is together always, forever making the beautiful music as in years past. And while I am sure that Billy’s wonderful spirit has gone to that special place where it now indwells in all that love him, my thoughts and appreciation today go out to his remaining family, who keep his memory and the unique quality of the Cowsill sound alive for those of us who know and cherish that gift.
this year i’ll be early, rather than late.a rock and roll heaven birthday remembrance to you bill.you are missed by many.thankfully your music will always be with us.rip
Doggone it! I wish I had an actual “rememberance” of seeing and hearing Billy perform. As it is I remember him from early photos of the family, appearances on television shows, album covers, teen “fanzines” and now videos.
Happy Birthday Billy, leader of the band! Your voice will live on in the memories of those who loved you…your sons, your family, your bandmates, your musical admirers.
I know that there’s a heck of a band in heaven and you are right there!
