  1. How can I see e movie Family Band? Can’t find it on Netflix or anything. Thank you.

    • The documentary is not released yet. It is still being shopped and can be seen at film festivals and special screenings only right now.

    • Does anybody know the discount code for online tickets to The Cowsills at BB King’s in NY tonight?

  2. In 2004 someone asked online in the Cowsills Community Forums if the 1968 television special “A Family Thing” would ever be available on video. Bob replied at that time that the Cowsills were securing the master reel, which was still in an NBC vault in Glendale. Is the video yet available? I can’t find it anywhere, though I see clips from it on YouTube and elsewhere.

Also, in the new documentary “Family Band” there is a brief excerpt of the Cowsills performing “Indian Lake” in and around a gazebo. This excerpt appeared to have been filmed or taped around the same time as “A Family Thing.” Was it a part of that special? It is the only video that I’ve ever seen of the Cowsills performing that song live in the 60s (or in the 20th century, for that matter). Neither have I ever seen a video of the Cowsills performing “Hair” live prior to the 21st century (only a music video from the late 60s or early 70s, in which they lip-synched to the master recording).

Are there available anywhere videos of live Cowsills performances of “Indian Lake” and/or “Hair” in the 60s or early 70s?

PS. The Cowsills were GREAT in Providence, Rhode Island on August 10, 2011 and in Kissimmee, Florida on October 2, 2011. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the shows in both cities!

  3. I REALLY want to find the sheet music for “Hair” My singing group wants to sing it SO badly, any ideas out there?

    • Sheet music will often show up on eBay and if you search for sheet music you will probably be able to find at least the Broadway cast version on the web somewhere.

    • No message boards right now but as you have discovered you can interact on the site via the post on the front page and in the archives and by signing the guestbook.

  4. Love the new format! I like that it’s all about the focus being on the Cowsills-only instead of all the other that was creating hard feelings on the other format.
