Rest in peace Barry, you were an amazing musician. When I was about 12-14, we used to go everywhere to see your family in concert.
I was hurt to har about the loss of your brother Barry and I will try to find his music. I remember a song the Cowsills did on Dick Cavett’s morning show about having a friend that song is great, should have been another hit for you and I stil remember it’s message. I’m a Buddhist and will chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo for your future. Thank You
I’ve always thought you guys were awesome. “The Rain, The Park and Other Things,” is my favorite song of the Sixties. I’m so sorry for your losses over the years. Please keep “Keeping On,” your music is needed. If you ever come out to Portland,OR, I’ll be there.
Mike

Barry, I’m haunted by your death, which happened way too soon. Playing the Best of the Cowsills right now, teary eyed. Never met you, but always wanted to. And still love your music. Maybe I’ll manage to meet you on the other side.
Have a happy birthday and fond memories! I am and always will be a individual and family fan…God Bless
Happy Birthday to you Barry….I so loved you and your family, listened to your LIVE album over and over. Was so sad to hear about your death in Katrina! Will always remember you and the Cowsills as a wonderful and most fun part of my youth! Joyce
A little late…but Happy Birthday, Barry. Miss you, B.
We all leave this life with something…I’ll leave my children knowing I did a good job raising them..you left that and your talent. You left behind more than some people accomplish in their lifetime. Rest well my friend…you are remembered and sadly missed.
I can t believe your gone but your spirit is with us. Happy Birthday.I am so glad that part of your family is still pursuing their music. Love you Barry. God Bless You. a devoted fan.
Many people have passed on in this life and it always makes it hard on those of us who are left behind. It’s sad enough when our loved ones are lost in, quote un quote, a normal expected manner, but to this day I still have a deep deep sorrow inside me for the way Barry left us. Mother nature can be our friend or our foe. I’d like to think that he is now in a place Mother nature takes care of the “Rain, the Park and Other things… and now, Barry. Thank you folks for keeping his memory alive.
Inside of this 50-something year old woman is the young girl who dreamed of one day meeting Barry. Those dreams got me through some trying times. Barry will always have a special place in my heart.
I met Barry and his family in Albuquerque in the summer of 1969. It was such a memorable experience. They were all so kind, and let us in to watch their practice session. They performed at the Civic Auditorium, which was torn down in 1987. They were staying at the Holiday Inn Midtown and we met them in the parking lot after their practice session at the Civic. As a 12 year old, I had no money to attend their concert, but I still have their autographs today. My crushes wavered between Jon and Barry, depending on the day and who was on that months cover of 16 Magazine. Barry, you will live in the memories of a young girl forever and as I do relive those memories, there will be a smile on my face. Thank you.
happy birthday barry, while you are no longer with us through music and video your memory will live on.you are no longer earth-bound..enjoy your journey brother.
Barry truly embodied the quintessential American spirit: humorous, adventuresome, creative, free. Barry was one of those rare, completely free souls. A humble, confident creative genius. American culture is enriched because of his contributions – in the public eye, to those who privately were fortunate enough to know him or catch one of his gigs over the years, and through his recorded legacy. Keep Barry’s memory alive! We do benefit by viscerally knowing him through the continuous archiving of photos, videos, and audios on this information superhighway. Keep it coming! Happy Birthday brotha Barry!
