WHAT ABOUT LOVE?
<\/em><\/strong>He\u2019s got everything he\u2019s ever wanted but nobody to share it with. He leads a good life but there is an emptiness around him that hurts and shades everything. He\u2019s actually very frustrated that love is absent in his life and he appears ready to make a commitment if the right woman comes along. He\u2019s almost mocking his own success because of the accompanying loneliness and he\u2019s tired of it and longs for the love and companionship of a good woman. Something is missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UNDER THE GUN
<\/em><\/strong>She\u2019s afraid of her feelings right now. She feels trapped. She doesn\u2019t trust herself and is asking for help. She feels a sense of hopelessness with her situation. She\u2019s running out of time. She\u2019s drawn to him but she thinks he\u2019s asking too much of her. She\u2019s running from it all, not wanting to face it. It\u2019s as if she\u2019s been through it before and was hurt. In a sense she longs for resolution \u2026 she also wants to love someone\u2026her answer may lie there. To her, it\u2019s a risk to embrace him and all he has to offer, but it\u2019s also a risk to ignore him and miss the love and experiences that may be waiting. She seems ready to make her move toward him \u2026 she\u2019s also lonely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHE SAID TO ME
<\/em><\/strong>He is over-the-top in love with her now. They\u2019re enjoying a relationship together but he, at this point, is more head-over-heels than she. He\u2019s fallen for her femininity, sensuousness and sexy ways. She has him in the palm of her hand. It\u2019s the dating, infatuation, butterflies, can\u2019t-wait-to-see-you time. She\u2019s his fantasy come true and he can\u2019t believe how awesome she is. He\u2019ll do anything for her and he fantasizes about life with her. It\u2019s a very exciting time for him in the relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YOU\u2019VE GOT NO TIME
<\/em><\/strong>She\u2019s pulled back\u2026once again reluctant to embrace all that he has to offer \u2026 and he\u2019s upset about it. He\u2019s almost taunting her and pulling that I-know-what\u2019s-better-for-you stand. He doesn\u2019t get why she doesn\u2019t see it. He\u2019s there for her\u2026but where is she? What is it that she really wants? She still seems hesitant to pursue this relationship. So time goes on, and he waits and waits for her to come around. There\u2019s something that makes him feel she will ultimately make the commitment. He does warn her, however, that he may not be able to wait forever. He\u2019s very serious now about her and is panicking a bit that she may remain out of his grasp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CROSS THAT LINE
<\/em><\/strong>She spells out exactly what she wants from him. She literally tells him what\u2019s been on her mind and what she\u2019s been thinking and she\u2019s been thinking about what she wants out of this relationship. She wants him to know how giving she can be \u2026 she describes the love she has inside just bursting to spill out \u2026 a love for him. She lets him know, if he\u2019s willing to do these things then he can have her. She draws the line he has to cross to get her and it\u2019s much deeper and farther than he expected. She feels he\u2019s still reluctant to cross it, he still is unsure \u2026 he needs to show her that he\u2019s worthy of all the love she wants to give him \u2026 she needs to feel she can be someone else\u2019s dream\u2026she could be his dream. She almost dares him to take her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT I BELIEVE
<\/em><\/strong>Time has passed, and they\u2019ve been married for years, and their love has grown to the highest of heights. True love prevails in both their lives. Everything is wonderful. It is a painless, love-filled time. They adore each other. They have made memories together and have grown and shared so much\u2026happiness, pain, joy, and sorrow. There is a bond between them that is strong and silent \u2026 the kind of bond that comes with years of being together, evolving. These are peaceful days where time just flows forward as life unfolds effortlessly for them both. He especially credits her for hanging in there and “keeping that look\u2026” in her eye so they apparently experienced rocky waters in the past. They must have weathered them together and emerged better for the experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I BE LOW
<\/em><\/strong>Unfortunately there\u2019s something wrong in the relationship. Something has happened and it wasn\u2019t good. There\u2019s some complaining going on here and some hint at blame. He seems to be regretting the way things turned out. Something happened to change things and everything went from feeling good to feeling bad. He almost sounds angry in a mocking sort of way \u2026 that arms-stretched-to-the-sky sort of frustration. He\u2019s afraid of where things are heading in the relationship. It sounds like he\u2019s been rejected and there\u2019s trouble ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FAR AWAY
<\/em><\/strong>She is very clear that something is indeed wrong with their relationship and the relationship is, in fact, over. Something terrible must have happened to cause a great hurt \u2026 something sad took place and it changed everything and she has decided she has to leave. She can\u2019t take the pain anymore and she is so overwhelmed by everything that happened she just has to get out\u2026far away .. .especially from him. She feels betrayed. Her love is apparently lost now \u2026 taken from her unable to be recaptured\u2026but her sadness follows her everywhere and she just wants to get away from it. It\u2019s all so tragic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RESCUE
<\/em><\/strong>This is his angry can\u2019t-take-the-truth response. The first drum beat is like a fist through the wall. He\u2019s not accepting that she\u2019s leaving and feels things can still be salvaged. His head is in the sand. He has the feeling he has been misunderstood and lays blame her way. She has become inaccessible\u2026he can\u2019t get to her. He wants her to know what he\u2019s gone through during all of this. It\u2019s been no picnic. He\u2019s desperate to keep their love alive, but deep inside where the truth lies he knows it\u2019s over and he is angry about it, but it\u2019s that lashing-out desperate anger where you get the feeling he really does know the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IS IT ANY WONDER?
<\/em><\/strong>This is the saddest song on “Global” because he finally realizes, and more importantly accepts, that she has left him and it is over, and it was pretty much his fault too. He takes responsibility for the failure and admits he was difficult \u2026 too set in his ways \u2026 too many things had to go his way, and he caused some pain that will never be able to be forgotten, or, apparently, forgiven. You almost feel sorry for the guy. The anger is gone \u2026 the shock is over. Now it\u2019s time to try and move on \u2026. get beyond it. Facing the truth is the start \u2026 and the truth is she\u2019s gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOME GOOD YEARS
<\/em><\/strong>What a healing thing time is. This song is all about closure. It\u2019s for everything that ever had a beginning, a middle, and an end \u2026 a career, a relationship, a business, even a life. If you need closure, this is where to find it. It seems that with time, his perspective improved and everything looked better \u2026 especially memories\u2026looking back. As time passed, he started dwelling more on the good memories he had with her \u2026 even though things hadn\u2019t work out the way he had dreamed they would. It must be human nature to naturally focus on the positive rather than the negative especially the further you get from an experience because that\u2019s what happened to him. So in later years, he only dwelled on what was good about their relationship and became grateful for everything that happened and appreciated what he learned along the way. The message is that the good shines through \u2026 so let it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
