  3. Dear John, Happy Belated Birthday! Remembering you as one of the cutest little three year olds ever, when your family lived at Meyers Lake in Canton, Ohio. My brother “Woody” was the paperboy and he was great pals with your brothers Richard (“Dickie” back then), Bill and Bobbie. Your mother needed a babysitter for her new little one “Susan”. That’s where I came into the picture. Your mother was afraid that the older boys might run off to play and forget about Susan. You boys were all awesome and stuck around the house and entertained me. So adorable! Then your Aunt Mary Jane came to visit that summer and we became buddies. I met Susan and her husband Russ in Canton a year or so ago and introduced myself to Susan as one of her very first babysitters and I don’t think she really believed me! I just read that your brother Richard is battling cancer. Would you please extend my sincerest get well wishes, thoughts and prayers to him. I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your brothers Bill and Barry and extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Sincerely, Gretchen Newport
