You take a bus marked "Lakewood Drive"
And you keep on ridin' 'til you're out of the city.
Where the air is fine with the sweet smell of pine
And the countryside's pretty
And you'll see daffodils, peepin' over the hill
or a honey-lovin' mama bear
Just take a left at the bridge, go down to Quakertown Ridge
And in a minute you're there

trail-blazin' rock)
Indian Lake is a scene you should make with your little one
Keep it in mind if you're lookin' to find
A place in the summer sun
You can swim in the cove, have a snack in the grove or you can rent a canoe
At Indian Lake you'll be able to make the way the indians do

Here's an Indian Lake memory that Bob shared at the pub one hot August night
...
Bob and Bill did not like the idea of releasing Indian
Lake very much and wrote their own song which they took to the executives of MGM. Bob
says that he remembers vividly playing the song for the executives and when he was done,
one of them reached over and turned up Indian Lake very loud and said "This
is a hit song". End of discussion! So, what happened to the song written by Bill and
Bob ... it went on to be a milk commercial!
By the way, Bob says that he never much liked Indian Lake but then one day
he heard that Brian Wilson had always liked it, so his opinion of the song was raised ...
at least somewhat! |
