What About Love
Hi y'all. Just got back home to Dallas from CM3. I'll let the others give you the nitty
gritty details of the events but I did want to mention a few things. I've just
put back my Glober, AS IS, and other 'sill cds back in my player and can sit back and let
the fingers do the talkin'.
First, I LOVE that family. ALLLLL of them; even those not on stage. I can't even
begin to explain the whys or whats or hows ... but, for me it was a virtual LOVE
FEST!
Everyone was happy to see each other, we all met up at the hotel, hugged and hugged and
laffed and laffed. I was so happy to see Kathy, Crazy Trazy, DebbieG, Vicky Lynn, and Jo.
Love those huggs!!!! I'm basically shy and withdrawn - really - yet, a HairHead Hug is the
Best!...won't turn one down!
When the guys took to the stage at the festival it was pure *magic* -- each one
of them such an important piece of the madness. (Eddie did add to the madness, he
was pretty terrific!)
Here we all were in these 40+ year old bodies....well, most of us anyway, and WE ALL
are giggling and cheering like 13 year olds. The music and vocals -- the entire evening
was simply a piece of heaven on earth. I was 13 again, seeing them again for the first
time.
Of course, the dreamer in me is still hoping for some kind of reunion to include Barry,
Susan, and Rich and especially BILL!
Connie, they sang Poor Baby!!! JOHN did Path of Love, in the
*original* key! He was in great form ... literally. He danced, let others play with his
drums, stood in front of the mic to sing, played the maracas (gosh is that man talented or
what??? -- can you tell I'm a JOHN fan?)
PAUL was completely hilarious! He did not disappoint his #1 Fan, Kathy! We were ALLLL
so happy YOU were there Paul!
ROBBY, geez, what can you say about a master bass guitarist? awesome... and a good
lookin' one at that! (and sooooo sweet... he moved his position when I asked him
to.....he was blocking John! LOLs)
But that BOB!!! What a fantastic man. A better host (person) you'd not be able to find
anywhere, trust me! He spoke and spent time with each person there, we
couldn't help but feel special (I know that may sound corney, but if you ask anyone
who was there, they'll tell you the same thing I'm certain).
He shared the stage at the pub, he called Lynne (she was great btw!), Eddie, Damon,
SallyL, Roxanne, up to the stage to join them. They all had their spot in the
limelight ..... he made more than a few dreams come true this weekend believe me!!!!
(of course, they were blocking John, and what could I do???? I had to tell
.... er I mean, *ask* them to move aside so I can see him!
And of course, those of us (ME!) who can't carry a tune in a bucket got to sing along
anyway (away from the microphone) LOLs!.....and I also have the pics to prove that people
were having a far out, fantastic blast dancing in the aisles! (Watch out Crazy Trazy,
Tigger wants to dance w/you again!)
They rocked and rocked and rocked. MaryJo is fantastic, Brandon is so talented (do you
know any John Denver?) They added such a specialness to the evening.
Being around some old friends, some new ones, and Bob, I felt very special .... and
boy, do I need that in my life ...... reality sometimes gets a bit too real for me ....
know what I mean? So, let me tell you, he fed MY ego!!!! and filled my heart w/love.
Ok, this is longer than I intended. Couldn't help myself... it was just so GREAT!
:)
love y'all!
