| Well, I'm here in Phoenix right now...chilling
out...replaying the weekend in my head and getting ready to SLEEP! An entity that escaped
me for the past three days. Details are forthcoming...give me time to get back to Indiana
and regroup... Let me just say...BOB COWSILL RULES!
And so do John and Paul and that Robby is pretty awesome, too...
Wonderful, wonderful weekend.
A HIGHLIGHT HOWEVER: The Cowsills performed at St. Bernardines Friday night, to the
delight of everyone in attendance, especially the HairHeads who were bowing at the stage,
some of their hits ... giving us what we had asked for: We Can Fly, Silver
Threads and Golden Needles, and IN THE ORIGINAL KEY, John Cowsill, yes, the adorable
one, sang Path of Love. And thanks to Connie for requesting Poor Baby,
Tracy's favorite song of all times, and we can prove that by the pictures we have of her
dancing in front of the stage!
Awesome...there needs to be a thank you list, but where do you start? Kristin baked
chocolate chip cookies which turned out to be me and Tracy's sole nourishment for three
days! THANK YOU YOU SWEET SWEET KID! ALL the HairHeads who attended for making it an
unforgettable weekend ... Pat at the Holiday Inn who stood outside with us Friday for 20
minutes and took pictures. Cheryl, at Cable's restaurant, our waitress who has put up with
us for YEARS! NEIL, my buddy, the bartender at Pickwick's...and when I say he worked his
butt off last night, I mean that ... THANK YOU BABY! Eddie who not only added great
harmonies and vocals to The Cowsills both nights, but provided us, along with that skinny
Damon, with guitar music for our own sing-along on Friday. THE MARIES FOR NOT SHOWING UP
IN ME AND TRACY'S ROOM, although they were there and could have, thank you Angel Garcia
for being so much fun! Vicky who took some of us to Venice Beach on Saturday ... and it's
true! WEAR JEANS AND A SWEATSHIRT DOWN THERE! Luis, our waiter at breakfast at the Holiday
Inn for being so sweet! The waiters and Waitresses at Jerry's Deli who saw us all
descending on them and didn't panic! Mary Jo Cowsill, well, just for being Mary Jo! And
that sweet Shelly who stood on a chair and took picture after picture during photo ops at
Pickwick's last night! You're awesome!
And especially the Cowsill men ... John, for yelling NO at me all night. I still don't
know what that was about!! LOL. And for getting up there and entertaining with every ounce
of himself ... To Paul, whom I had never met and was shaking so hard when I finally DID
meet, that he had to hold me up for the picture! There are about 22 shots of me and
Paul...I'M YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN BABY, and don't forget it!
And finally, to Bob Cowsill for rearranging his life for us, having dinner with us,
having late night snacks with us and providing us with entertainment that was just #1! I
love you, man! You deserve to reach the top and stay there! I hope the next time I'm out
there, we can go for a ride in the Ferrari!!
And to ALAMO car rental ... for renting Tracy and me the COOLEST, and I mean that,
maroon convertible! We look like classy, classy chicks for sure all weekend, cruising the
freeways!
THANK YOU to everyone I missed! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU everybody! Marathon 4 is
going to be just totally awesome!
I love you all!
One More Of My Highlights
Jeez, the weekend is coming back to me in great big radiating bursts of orange and
yellow and green and blue lights!
One of the highlights for me was putting Salia in the back of our convertible and going
to the beach...She positioned herself in the middle of the back seat, using two seatbelts
to strap herself in...now I don't understand that at all...I mean she wasn't sitting up
there where she could even SEE how Tracy was driving! (LOL)...
But she had her arms across the back of the seat, in her very best Marilyn Monroe pose.
We were quite popular with most of the men on the freeway! The only tape we happened to
have was the one the Alamo people gave us with "Don't Worry, Be Happy" on it,
and we had that blasting and Salia was singing it back there. I have a picture that will
just kill you guys!
Wow ... there go those lights again!
HIGHLIGHT FOR ME:
I met Paul Cowsill! I met Paul Cowsill! I met Paul Cowsill! And I had my picture taken
with him, and he TALKED to me like a real person, and we had conversations and my palms
were all sweaty and I was having palpitations!! I was shaking like a leaf!
Believe me, not many men have ever affected me this way! LOL...
Just thinking about it? I'm getting a bit woozy!
FROM YOUR #1 FAN (sitting here in Indiana again, thinking that surely I DREAMT this)...
... Kathy
Paul, you are just totally awesome! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!!! |
