Comments: I use to think that I was the only one who remeber the Cowsills. After I found this site boy I was wrong. Still sad over the deaths of Barry and Billy. Barry was always my favorite. Hope the family can heal soon. My daughters where New Kids on the Block fans. My only grandson out of 5 grandchildren was named after Jordan Knight. Jordan Knight appeared in Columbus, Ohio last year. My middle daughter who named her son Jordan or course had to go. She and my older daughter and their husbands when to the bar that he way appearing at. My son-in-laws stayed at the bar while the girls where at the concert. My son-in-law who son is named Jordan asked the waitress if she could take a picture that he had of Jordan Knight and have him autograph for my daughter since their son is named after him. While the waiteress came back and said she got it autographed, but Jordan Knight took her not to bother him again with any fans request. He said that he has a meet and greet thing after the concert for all that would pay 40 dollars. Have time changed or what. I could not see one of the Cowsills doing something like that. Jordan Knight is just a has been pop star, "What a jerk"

It was great to meet all the fans.
Thank you to everyone that made it possible for me and my girls to be in Newport to say goodbye to Barry.
Love,

I was shocked to hear of Billy's death. He was my first "boyfriend". The Cowsill's lived in the duplex next door to me and my family in the 50's when their father was stationed in Portsmouth in the Navy. I remember all of them well, especially Barbara, signing all the time. My condolences to the family.

Hi guys,
I'm a friend of your cousin Ned and came to the Viking to sit with Ned, his niece shelly, my sister Corrine and her best friend Barbara to support you guys after losing Barry. When I got there, Ned called to say you also lost Bill the night before. I've never been one to been overly impressed with fame. However, I am very impressed with talent, guts and kindness. You guys have all those qualities. It took guts to go on with the show after a double hit to the family like that.
The Cowsills are part of the soundtrack of my life. There are some things that are comforting such as the voice of a parent, Johny Carson's voice as you are drifting off to sleep, and your music. It comforts me in the way that going home and seeing my family does. It seemed fitting that I should be there for you when you needed comfort.
If you ever wondered about the importance of what you are doing, don't. You are lifting spirits with your voices. On behalf of my family, which are long term fans, I'd like to say thank you most sincerely for the music. Perhaps my words can bring you comfort in your hour of need.
For Those Who Part Ways
By Joe Goyette, 2003
Windswept days provide chance meetings
For those who have the courage to take the journey
There are fond remembrances of warm greetings
In the solitude of change which is our destiny
Once swept up in the winds that move us
We land where our fait leaves no promise for tomorrow
And leave behind those we cherish
But not without some passing sorrow
So brave the winds of change standing tall
And cast your heart to the winds so soft
Never let the torch you carry fall
Until the day you pass it off

Comments:Music can be and many times is the soundtrack to people's lives. That certainly was the case with me. Every time I hear the song "The Rain, The Park and Other Things" it throws me back to a time when I was young boy of thirteen years of age. That was when I had my first girlfriend. Her name was Jeanette Payton, beautiful with long blond hair. She was my first kiss. As soon as, {I called it at the time} "I love the flower Girl" hit the airwaves, that was the first love for both of us. Some would say puppy love but it sure felt like the real thing to me. That was one of the most sweet innocent carefree times of my/our life and that song had a big part to do with it. I know it probably sounds corny but it's true. That song, her, that time in history not to mention the beautiful town in up state New York made it all come together for me. I remember being at the park in autumn with the leaves falling off the trees and that song playing in backround, blaring from an open window of a house next to the park. I swear, it was like something out of a movie. It was perfect!
A couple of years after my father retired and moved us from N.Y. to Ventura California, it happened all over again. This time it was "Hair". We lived off the main road "Pierpont" on a street named "Bath Lane". I couldn't believe it. I remember thinking, "we live on the edge of the continent". We lived four houses from the beach. The day we moved in I walked down past the three houses to the sand dune, climbed up and over and I couldn't believe my eyes. As I looked at the ocean in disbelief. And there was a group of long haired people sitting around a big fire, passing around a gallon bottle of Red Mountain wine and listening to "Hair" on the radio and siging along with it. It played that whole summer and fit the time and the feel of that beach town where people who hitchhiked up and down the coast would stop to rest for days at a time. Once again that song was one of the big backdrops/soundtracks of that place, that time, my life. Your music had a big impact on my life and the memories I carry today.
In closing I want to tell you that your family's music meant so much more to me than I could ever convey in my younger years. I can't express my sympathy enough for the loss of your brother Barry. I send my thoughts and prayers to you and your beloved brother, Barry may he rest in peace.
God Bless,

Comments:I think the ourpouring of grief for Barry and the Cowsill family shows that the fans and the Cowsills are a family indeed, maybe not by blood but by spirit. I've met many groups over the years who are "past their heyday...at least in recording sales", but have yet to find a true "family" like the Cowsills. We will be going to the memorial service and the get together afterwards just to say "thank you" for everything. These are tough times for the family and I'm sure the outpouring of support is very uplifting in these times. We also sent a donation to help out Bill with his situation. By the way we bought two copies of Global recently from Robin Records.... it's truly excellent. Thank you Cowsills for your uplifting music and spirit!

When I was a young teen, I was so in love with Barry and John. My walls were plastered with their posters, and I listened to their beautiful mucic constantly. When I saw that Barry had died all these thought of Newport and first beach came back to me. I lived down the street and we all would meet at the beach. My father was city manager of Newport and he would take me to watch you all sing I remember it was in the cellar on a side street I don't remember the name of the place. He always told me (I don't know if it is true) he had to get a special permit for you all to sing. I do have a concert program with everyones signatures that surfaces everyonce in a while.I remember you all well. My memories and prayers are with all of you. Candy Weisbrod Henderson

One of my best experiences of seeing bands upclose and in person was when I saw the Cowsills perform in Corpus Christi in 1970 or 1971. I was not upset at all that they came onto stage just a tad late and still pretty much in their swimsuits and beach sand and all sunburned. All that just made them seem so much more like people I could identify with. I was always glad to have seen, heard and appreciated "the real life "Partridge" family". I hope to find a recording of the album I used to have...i gave it away before I realized that I might have trouble finding it later. Awwww. Thanks Cowsills for sharing yourselves with so many of us.---------

Comments:So sad. A very talented and dear person is no longer with us here on Earth. Such great memories will keep him with us always, as he sings along with his Mom in that big Concert in the Sky.
"And suddenly the sun broke through..I turned around he was gone! Where did he go? All that was left was one little flower from his hair. Then I knew, he had made us happy, happy, happy!!!"

Hi, I'm not sure who will read this but we have the same first cousins in RI. Florence is my aunt too. I don't know if any of you remember me but we stayed together with our cousins in Exeter one summer around 1970 1972. I remember some of you but in particular I remember Susan. I also remember your mother and father well. They were very nice. About 5 years or less ago, Susan and maybe some other Cowsills sang at Aunt Florence's anniversary. You still sound good! Anyway, I just felt like dropping you a line and let you know I still enjoy your older music and everytime I hear it, I reminisce about the good old days in RI. Good luck on your future adventures and my condolences for your loss of Barry.

Comments:Dear Cowsill Family,
I heard one of your tunes on the radio this morning and decided to see what you were doing these days. You were such a nice part of my teen years in the 1960s. I am sorry about your missing brother, Barry. Katrina was a tragedy for so many. Also, Bill is seeing some very tough times with his health.
I wish you all the best and my prayers will be with you.
Jim Ankrom
P.S. I will send for your album soon and also try to get one of your T shirts, though I think I might be too large for it.

Comments: Cowsills have been in my life since I was 13, the first concert I ever saw was them at the hatch shell in boston, and i've never lost my love for the music. I hope all are well, and that barry will be found soon.
