Barry - my cousin, Linda, met you at the Ohio State fair in the 60's. You were performing at the grandstand and before the show snuck out and she and some other girls spotted you and started screaming. You asked them to not scream and let people know who you were because you'd get in a lot of trouble. She told me you were the cutest (I think because you were about her age). For years that was a story about my near brush with fame- my cousin met Barry Cowsill at the Ohio State Fair. Happy birthday.

Happy BELATED Solar Return Barry. Sorry to be late with this, but IT WASN'T MY FAULT (As Han Solo lamented on more than one occassion) We got caught up with some Worm Virus Thingy around here, and our internet provider had us offline for 3 weeks. We didn't even have the Virus! Then, just yesterday, we were put back online, only to lose electricity because of Hurricane Isabel. Sigh, So FINALLY, I am able to come over here to wish you a Happy B'DAY, B'BOY! Hope it was great, and that you will have the best year EVER! Wish I could see you and your sibs for the Marathon, but finances won't permit it. BUT, I WILL be there in spirit! So sing your pee piddlin lil ol heart out! Barry: Happy Belated Birthday. Every year on September 14th I think back to 1970 when I saw The Cowsills for the first time with all of my friends. It was right around your birthday and I decided to bake a cake for you. I brought it to the concert and was able to give it to you and meet your family after the concert and you couldn't have been nicer. Now when I look back on that day I realize just how nice you all really were...you had just finished a concert, you were probably tired and hungry...you were heading to dinner...but you still managed to take the time to listen to a group of thirteen year old girls sing happy birthday to you and sign autographs and make that the best day we had ever had. I am still friends with the same girls and we talk about that day every so often. I have a 16 year old son who has very eclectic taste in music ranging from punk to ska to jazz and blues...but one of his favorite songs is The Rain, The Park and Other Things...Well, I guess that what I really wanted to say besides Happy Birthday was Thank You...for making a thirteen year old girl feel special for a day...and I am sure that there are many more like me out there....and thank you for giving me a memory that I can look back on and smile at age 46... I takes a special person to make so many people feel special.... Thank You

Barry - Wishing you a wonderful birthday - hope you're enjoying the rain, the park, and other things:) Met you way too many years ago while attending my first concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. I still have my concert program with real Cowsill autographs to prove it. And my Dad still has the slides (photos) he took while you guys came out to greet us fans. Way too cool...thanks for the memories.

Haven't had any new Barry songs since Fishing Worm Blues. Thanks for let me in on the Beloit jam band. Still remember it fondly. In fact, the farther away it gets, the better I remember us being. Hi, Barry . . . Happy birthday a few days early. I've had so much fun poking around this website and just wanted to let you know how great it is that you're still making music. I was totally crazy about you when I was a teenager and got to see you guys in concert once in Ohio. It was an outdoor venue and I'll never forget standing on one side of a fence while you (and possibly some of your siblings . . . I can't really remember since I couldn't take my eyes off you)stood on the other side signing autographs for a mass of screaming teenage girls. Well, just as I was handing you my program to autograph, someone told you it was time to go, so you turned away. But sweet thing that you are, you took pity on an hysterically screaming girl (me), turned back, and signed my program. I was so thrilled! Thank you so much for that autograph and memory. Hope you have a terrific birthday this and every year.

Barry, I played with you in a band (many years ago) during a time that I'm sure both of us would rather not dwell on. I was the banjo player in the group that played Chelsea Street Pubs around Texas. Do you remember? I once stood between you and some wacko that wanted to hurt you. He didn't, and I bluffed our way out of that one! Barry, I played with you a couple of years ago in sonora. Every thursday at the Flying Pig. You were the reason I showed up. You were the only one who made the music come alive for me. Thank you. happy belated b'day, barry. you were my favorite cowsill and you were the best. my cousin and i saw your family at least 6 times back in the late 60's and early 70's. i am on my son's e'mail right now, but it has been wonderful writing to you. we are older but still love you all. good luck to you and your family.
